American Hearth Bakery

Our Story

History

American Hearth Bakery began in 2003 in a small Baltimore City kitchen with a few scone recipes, a single oven, and a clear goal: to bring something real, honest, and homemade to the table. There was no big plan, no major funding, and no promise of success. What we did have was passion, determination, and a commitment to offering products made with integrity.

In the early years, everything was done by hand. We baked before sunrise, packed orders ourselves, and delivered fresh scones to local markets, cafés, and corner stores throughout the city. One customer at a time, we built relationships and earned trust through consistency and genuine care.

Those humble beginnings shaped who we are. They taught us that great products come from attention to detail, thoughtful preparation, and pride in every batch.

Growing With Baltimore

As demand increased, our menu expanded. Customers began asking for more, and we responded by adding new items while staying true to our standards. What began with simple scones grew into a full bakery operation that now serves a wide range of businesses across the region.

Today, we operate out of a Baltimore business park, producing an extensive lineup of baked goods for cafés, restaurants, grocery stores, institutions, and specialty shops. Our offerings include:

  • Buttery, flaky croissants
  • Authentic New York–style bagels
  • Soft dinner rolls and sandwich breads
  • Cookies, brownies, and dessert bars
  • Muffins and breakfast pastries
  • Specialty and decorated cakes
  • Seasonal items and custom wholesale products
  • Traditional hamantaschen in classic flavors
  • Authentic Jewish Rye baked with old-world techniques

Everything is baked fresh six days a week — never from frozen dough, never from shortcuts. Quality, freshness, and care guide every batch that leaves our ovens.

Consistency

Customers choose us because they know they’ll receive the same quality every time. Consistency is our promise and our reputation

Honesty

We believe in straightforward business: fair pricing, reliable service, and products that deliver exactly what we promise.

Community

Baltimore supported us from the start, and we’ve grown with the people and businesses around us. We see every customer as a partner.

Craftsmanship

Though we’ve scaled, we still value hands-on techniques, traditional methods, and small-batch attention where it matters most

Staying True in a Changing Industry

The baking industry has shifted dramatically toward mass production and frozen imports. We’ve taken a different path. Our growth is built on doing things the right way — not the fastest way.

Fresh dough mixed daily, real ingredients, skilled hands, and early morning baking sessions are what define us. Freshness isn’t a slogan; it’s our operating standard.

More Than a Bakery

When you choose American Hearth, you support:

  • A Baltimore-grown bakery with two decades of experience
  • Dozens of hardworking employees and their families
  • A business committed to fairness, reliability, and community

  • Every item represents dedication, craftsmanship, and time.
Looking Ahead

Our mission is simple: keep growing while staying true to where we came from. We continue expanding our wholesale partnerships, developing new recipes, and improving our capabilities every year.

No matter how much we grow, we will always stay rooted in our original values — honesty, freshness, and genuine care for the craft.

We’re thankful for every customer and partner who has helped shape our story. Your support means everything to us.
